Duties and Responsibilities: Natural sciences managers typically oversee laboratory workers, though some oversee workers in the field. They also plan, coordinate, and direct research, design, and production activities to improve manufacturing and industrial processes; develop new products; and advance scientific research.

Salary: The average natural sciences manager makes $123,140 each year.

Education: Usually, experience in natural sciences is required to obtain this position. Most natural science managers begin their career as a scientist—usually as chemists, biologists, and geologists or a mathematician.

Reflection: I think I’d like to career something that has to do with science. Science has always been interesting to me. Natural Science Managers get paid a good salary which is great. It does seem something that will take a little longer to career in but I’m very sure it’s going to be worth it.

The current mile world record

The most current mile record holders are Hicham El Guerrouj with the record of 3:43.13 minutes.

That is pretty awesome to run a mile in less than 4 minutes. I can barely do it in less than 12 minutes! That’s really impressive. I wonder how much practice it took him to achieve a record like that.

I would love to beat this record one day. I honestly believe that if I put much work into it I can achieve it. It’s going to take time but everything perfect always does.

Duties and responsibilities: A nurse who cares for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. LPN’s are below registered nurses and physicians.  

Salary: The annual salary for a LPN is $41,540.

Education: Aspiring LPNs need a high school diploma and need to attend a training school.

Reflection: I think becoming a licensed practical nurse can be really cool but I’d much rather become something higher.

Duties and responsibilities: Home health aides make a remarkable difference in the lives of the sick, disabled and elderly. By assisting with personal tasks such as dressing and bathing, and helping to keep homes safe and clean, they allow those who would otherwise need a higher level of care the opportunity to live on their own.

Salary: The highest-paid earned about $29,480, while the lowest-paid earned about $16,690.

Education: There is no standardized educational requirement for HHAs. Some states, not even a high school diploma is required. HHAs do not hold licenses but many employers prefer them to be certified. Home health care labor can be physically difficult, so strength and good health are necessary. HHAs must have patience, dependability, good interpersonal skills, and be able to manage their time efficiently.

Reflection: I think I would like to become a home health aide. My mother who does home health gets paid a good amount. With some of her help I think I can become one if I really looked into it.
